Hi Ryu X Chun-Li Project fans. Welcome to the blog!
We’ve been surfing the internet looking for artists who want to submit single pieces of Ryu/Chun-Li art to be included in our graphic novel upon release. We’ve been very successful and always welcome more. If you’d like to donate a piece, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and let’s get the ball rolling!
That said, one thing we would like more of in our book are back up comics…
So, in hopes of getting a few more back up comics in our graphic novel, we would like to announce…
It’s a small contest, but if we get a good amount of participation, we may have another in the future.
The winner of the contest will receive a copy of four Street Fighter Manga written by Masahiko Nakahira (translated into English by UDON Entertainmnet). The books are used but in good condition and will be sent directly to your door, no shipping charge required. You can see a photo of them below. If you’ve ever wanted to own and read these books without paying money for them, now’s your chance.
How to enter:
Produce a quality hand-drawn or digitally-drawn back up comic for our book.
– The pages must be A4 size,
– The comic can be a single or multiple page work.
– It can be funny or serious.
– It must be multi-panel, (2 or more).
– It can be a black and white or a full colour comic.
– 300 dpi .jpg file if possible.
And most importantly…these comics must promote the idea of Ryu and Chun-Li as a couple.
People who want to enter the contest but do not wish to draw the comic themselves can instead commission a Ryu/Chun-Li comic from an artist and may enter the commissioned comic under their names.
Any characters that appear in the work must be from the Street Fighter games only. Works with any other characters from other games (including crossovers) or other companies will not be accepted.
The work must be digital or scanned onto the web. Photos or poor scans of comics will not be accepted.
Comics posted online prior to being entered into or during the contest will not be accepted.
The work can be titilating, but it must also be appropriate for a teen to adult audience. No hentai works or inappropriate language please.
The winner will receive the Masahiko Nakahira Street Fighter books above and a spot in our project’s graphic novel, a graphic novel we will be pitching to UDON/CAPCOM next year.
IMPORTANT: Entrants that submit work for the contest are not allowed to share them with the public (online, etc) until after the contest winner is announced, or they will be disqualified. Entrants who do not win but agree not to share their work with the public until our graphic novel is released will automatically get a spot in our graphic novel provided they meet the above conditions. If you wish to maintain confidentiality after the contest so you can be in our book, please let us know when you send in your entry.
Confidentiality must be maintained.
We apologise for all this secrecy, but our contacts have told us UDON and CAPCOM will be more receptive to our book if very little of it has been revealed to the public. Besides, there is nothing worse than waiting for a new comic only to find out you’ve seen most of it in spoilers on the internet prior to release. When this graphic novel, its back up comics, and art appendix are finally in the public eye, we want them to be surprisingly entertaining to everyone who reads them.
If you have any questions please contact us, or when your piece is ready attach it to an e-mail and send it to email@example.com
The Deadline for submissions is October 31st, 2013.
